How to find the good

Updated: Jun 25, 2018

This morning, I asked the universe to show me the good, and the universe reminded me you always get what you ask for.

Last night, I stayed up to watch a Holocaust movie, and the images unnerved me to the core. The visuals replayed in my head, as I tossed and turned. The movie was about old journals that were left behind in the concentration camps.

The journals told stories of lives there, and the horror as it described their existence. It made me think about the importance of writing about your life and documenting changing times.

It was a sinking feeling that I couldn’t shake, and it was no surprise I didn’t sleep. So, I asked for a sign that there is still more love than hate in the world.

It never ceases to amaze me how the universe gives you exactly what you need when you need it, but the thing is, you need to be present to see it. When you direct your attention to what is all around you right now, you’ll experience more.

I boarded the plane, and I sat with a young mom and her 5-month-old baby. A happy, chubby, beautiful baby. The whole flight he stayed peaceful and calm in his mother’s arms. He stared at her face alternating between smiling, cooing, and sleeping.

There was no mistaking the love and joy that radiated between them, yet on a busier day, I may have missed it.

This was my sign.
