Holding space for family transitions


My husband called this morning and told me it’s over.


Well, not my marriage, but a change in his business he had been anticipating for a long time.


Today, he downsized his company, which unfortunately led to letting go of a group of people. He had been distraught for a very long time, and it was an excruciating decision to make.


Having been on both sides, I understand first hand the pain involved in moving forward. It took a long time for him to get here and when the plans were in place to move forward, he knew what he needed to do. It’s always about getting clear on what’s next whether it’s the next phase personally or for business.


This month also marked the end of his 25th year, so it was a landmark along with a significant transition. There’s something to be said for timing.


While we both learned a lot of lessons on the ups and downs of business along the way, today I feel
